OYO Waves Hotel Newport OR - NYE Beach

This hotel was a true gem. Even though we booked a room with “Limited Ocean View”, we still had full views out of our windows, only blocked by a few power lines. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was priceless. The room was clean and spacious. The check-in process was fast and the girl was very friendly. The location is unbeatable - only a short walk from restaurants, coffee shops, and the beach entrance (there hotel is on a cliff and there’s no access right out front). The beach was lovely. Very expansive so even though there were a lot of people on it, we felt very private. Our dog was very happy to be able to run around. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely loved our stay! We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was just perfect! The view from our room was breathtaking, the room was beautiful and spacious and the staff were wonderful! The last 3 hotels on our vacation were horrible so by the time we discovered OYO, we did not have very high hopes and we just wanted a place to sleep. So, the fact that OYO had 1 room left and could fit us in felt destined and I could've cried at how perfect everything was. We WILL be back. Thank you so much to the staff! <3

I was really impressed by the service at the Waves Hotel. While the rooms were older and the pool area could use some remodeling and updating, the staff was more than accommodating and helpful! During our first night, my son started having a major allergic reaction to something in the room, so the staff upgraded us for our second night and it was just what we needed! Overall, this place is excellent for those traveling on a budget but who still want to be near downtown and the beach! We look forward to staying there again!

Management has been making some very nice improvements to the hotel - new paint, carpets, etc. When checking-in, we were treated well and offered a free upgrade, giving us an unrestricted view of the beach below. I didn't realize this was an option when reserving the room over the Internet on Booking.com. The rooms are priced below what you'd expect for what you get at this part of Newport. Great Value...

Excellent optimization of price and quality! We booked a room with an ocean view for an extra $20 and it was well worth it Very dog friendly, 5 min walk to NYE beach and plenty of amenities. 5 min walk to several cafes and restaurants. Comfortable beds. Yes the room and furniture are older but it was clean and everything worked and that’s what matters

We recently stayed at this hotel for my birthday, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. My husband surprised me with the trip and had reached out to the hotel ahead of time to see if there was anything they could do to help celebrate. What they did truly exceeded our expectations. When we arrived at our room, we were welcomed with a beautiful handwritten card, fresh flowers, and chocolates. It was such a thoughtful and personal touch that made the entire stay feel incredibly special. On top of that, we were given what I truly believe was the best ocean view at the property. The attention to detail, kindness of the staff, and genuine effort to make our stay memorable did not go unnoticed. It’s rare to find a place that goes above and beyond like this. If you’re considering a stay in Newport, I highly recommend booking here. We will absolutely be back!

We usually just take day trips to Newport, but we needed to be there early in the morning so my wife booked this room because the rate was very reasonable. For the price the room was really large (for an inexpensive hotel on the coast), clean and comfortable. The bed was pretty soft, but I slept fine on it. The service was good and it was walking distance from our favorite beach in town, Nye Beach. That’s saying a lot for me because I have an injured ankle and can’t walk long distances. The breakfast was somewhat standard: cereal, yogurt, make your own waffles, etc. No protein like eggs, bacon or sausage but there are plenty of breakfast options in town for that. We have saved them in our favorites and will definitely use them again if we need to stay overnight in Newport. Oh yeah, the view of the ocean was great!!!

Overall great experience, great location with a quick and easy maybe 5 minute walk to the coast or shops in town. Or if you don’t want to go all the way down you can go out behind the hotel and look over the lands edge for a gorgeous view. Quick drive into Newport to check out the town, 15-20 minutes to Depoe Bay or Lincoln City. The pool was nice and warm, only wish it could have been open later. Rooms were spacious and comfy. Shower was a bit small and the shampoo and body wash provided aren’t the best but did the job. Front desk was really nice and provided us with extra toiletries/towels when we asked. I would stay here again if/when we make a trip back down to Newport.
